The challenge

Travelers carry adapters and cables separately, and the cables always end up tangled.

The approach

Build a hinged storage compartment into the plug itself, with dividers and Velcro straps to keep cables neat.

Design process & development.

Phase 01

Rough sketches

My first set of rough sketches on paper explored the plug from different angles: front view, top view, closed and open storage, and plugged in.

Phase 03

Features

The plug has standard power inputs plus 3 USB-A and 3 USB-C ports for charging other devices. An indicator light on the front, also visible on top, shows when it's working. A hinged cover opens onto divided sections, with Velcro straps that keep wires from tangling or getting damaged.

Phase 04

Final

The final views show the adapter from the front and at an angle, showing how the plug works.
